Legal Aid Scheme in Chaos
The government’s criminal legal aid scheme is in chaos with legal aid solicitors unbelievably going on strike due to cuts in their fees! The London Criminal Courts Solicitors Association (LCCSA) president Nicola Hill admitted that the cuts would mean hundreds of law firms would “rapidly go to the wall”, and others would sack experienced solicitors and replace them with “unqualified and cheap” ones.
